Lauren's Vineyard is located in the esteemed Agrelo district, long-known as Mendoza's top terroir for Cabernet Franc grapes.

Tasting Notes

Deep red and bright in color. Expressive and elegant with notes of red and black fruit on the nose and subtle aromas of roasted bell pepper, dried herbs and cacao.

Food Pairing

Try paired with pastas in tomato based sauces, grilled meat entrees or rich vegetables.

The 2016 was not really on form the last time I reviewed Casarena's portfolio, so I was expecting a much better 2018 Cabernet Franc Lauren's Vineyard. It matured in new French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine delivered as expected: varietal, herbal and spicy, very tasty and with very fine tannins. They have one plot of 3.5 hectares planted with Cabernet Franc in the coolest part of the estate. The vineyard is balanced, and it shows in the wine. Wine Advocate October 2019

A Malbec from Agrelo that spent 12 months in French barrels. Dense purple in the glass. The complex nose is balsamic, displaying plum jam, tomato preserve and pencil shaving notes along with hints of menthol. Indulgent in the mouth, with ripe, slightly sharp tannins and a constrained, terse feel. The wood lends shape and adds flavor to the smoky finish. Vinous October 2020

Dried and fresh roses and violets with a greenish, sappy thread across bright red berries. The palate has a crunchy, juicy feel with fine, chalky tannins and a juicy, red-berry and red-plum finish. James Suckling April 2020
