Tasting Notes

Deep ruby in color with violet hues, a red blend that combines the intensity of Syrah, the freshness of Grenache, and the subtlety and perfume of Viognier. On the nose, ripe red and black fruits such as raspberries and blackberries stand out, alongside delicate floral notes, spices, and a subtle mineral touch. On the palate, it shows a balanced structure with fine tannins, vibrant acidity, and a persistent finish that highlights its elegance.

Perfect for accompanying lamb, spiced dishes, or aged cheeses.

Deep, quite nervy and perfumed, with aromas of fresh dark cherries, stemmy herbs, cured meat and violets. Quite fresh and pristine, with a medium to full body and fine, fresh tannins from the fruit. Long, understated and thoughtful. A co-fermentation of syrah, grenache and viognier. Sustainable. Delicious now, but can hold. James Suckling February 2026

The 2022 Amayna Côte D'Mar combines 85% Syrah, 5% co-fermented Viognier and 10% Garnacha from the Leyda Valley. Aromas of blackberry and blueberry are layered with spice, balsamic hints, peach and subtle herbal tones. Dry, broad and fresh, the palate is smooth, enveloping and slightly juicy, with a clean expression and supple texture. The 2022 is an interesting debut vintage. Vinous October 2025

Another new addition to the portfolio, comprising 85% Syrah co-fermented with 5% Viognier and blended with 10% Grenache, the 2022 Amayna Côte d’Mar opens with a gorgeous nose of purple flowers, lavender, cracked pepper and black fruits, all rendered with the house's signature definition and purity. The palate is compact, velvety and taut, tightening into a sturdy finish. While this is still quite wound up and in need of further time in bottle, it is a welcome and multifaceted addition to the Garcés Silva lineup. The Wine Advocate April 2026

Tech Details

Harvested from Syrah and Viognier vineyards planted in 2008 on a hillside with moderate to gentle slopes, north-facing, over a base of granodiorite and sandstone with high presence of rocks. The Grenache comes from a vineyard planted in 2012 at the top of the Cordon Huinca hill. 

  • Fermentation: Stainless steel tanks with extraction via short pump-overs to extract only what is necessary.
  • Aging: 16-20 months in French oak foudres and barrels.
